yoyoyo!~ i got bought he2 ge2 ear studs today. wahaha...decided to be guai after all. but actually i already am guai u noe. hmm...... left 6 more weeks til no-more-seeing-kiw, so i shall be nice to him for once:D not that i got caught by him for my ear studs, though mrs shu spotted me with the red ones one(be glad i wasn't wearing the 'stones' one that day) yeap..this pair will last me for 10 wks, til the end of o's.

ok..back to depressing stuffs- the prelims. the worst paper i sat for so far was the chem prac. absolutely urgh. i did the tests for all the gases and came with nth, so i only wrote colourless odourless gas. ok..fine. the last qa asked us to test for anion. i tried everything but came up with nth yet again! so pissed man. it was oxygen and nitrate. so screwed up rite??? all my tests for gases was so jinxed lor. humpf. shan't harp on it anymore. the rest aren't too bad. but the hist source based part d, didn't read ques properly and i only covered on germany's part of 'marriage of convenience'. sigh..byebye marks. e maths paper 1 today..was good:) hope it stays that way for paper 2 haha.

meanwhile, lemme enlighten u on the hormonal control of the menstrual cycle i studied earlier.

the anterior pituitary gland secretes follicle stimulating hormone(FSH). FSH causes the development of follicles. eventually, one ripens to become the Graafian follicle while FSH induces the other follicles in the ovary to secrete oestrogen. oestrogen causes the growth and repair of the endometrium which was broken down earlier on. it also inhibits the production of FSH, thus, preventing the ripening of anymore follicles. however, it stimulates the pituitary gland to secrete luteinising hormone(LH). LH is needed for ovulation to occur and for formation of corpus luteum. the corpus luteum produces progesterone and a little oestrogen. progesterone is needed to maintain the uterine lining for the implantation of the embryo. it also inhibits FSH and LH production. if fertilisation does noe take place, no more LH, thereby no more progesterone and endometrium breaks down. if fertilisation takes place, placenta takes over role of pregesterone production when formed.
